From our bridal stylists and seamstress to our design team and event pros, we’re a tight-knit squad that brings the calm, the creativity, and the “we got this” energy. Come meet the faces behind the magic!
We’ll kick things off by introducing you to Katie—our fearless leader, creative visionary, and the heart behind Something Blue. She’s the kind of person who tells it like it is, always has your back, and can turn wedding chaos into calm. Katie’s the first to cheer you on, guide you through the tough calls, and make sure your day reflects you, not what Pinterest says you’re supposed to do. Trust us, you’ll want her in your corner!!
So, let’s pull back the curtain and get to know the woman behind the magic: Katie, the owner and creative powerhouse of Something Blue!
What is your role at Something Blue?
I’m the owner, creative director, and head of making dreams happen here at Something Blue. Whether it’s helping a bride say “yes” to the dress, bringing a showstopping reception space to life, or just making sure the day runs smoother than a fresh wax, I’m the one behind the vision and the vibe.
How long have you worked at Something Blue?
Since the very beginning! I started Something Blue because I saw a gap in the industry. People needed a one-stop shop where they could feel supported, inspired, and totally themselves. It’s been my heart and soul ever since.
What’s your favorite part about working at Something Blue?
Helping women feel confident, not just in what they’re wearing, but in the decisions they’re making for one of the biggest days of their lives. Whether it’s watching a bride light up when she finds the dress, or bringing her vision to life in a beautifully styled venue, I love being a part of the moment she steps into her power and says, “Yes, this feels like me.” Confidence looks good on everyone, and I’m here to help it shine!
What’s your go-to style for décor and wedding dresses?
For décor, I’m a sucker for romantic-meets-modern. I love texture, balance, and creating intentional moments that make people pause and feel. As for wedding dresses, my go-to is a clean silhouette with an unexpected twist, maybe a dramatic sleeve, a bold neckline, or a luxe fabric that catches the light just right.
If you could decorate or style any celebrity wedding, who would it be?
Madison LeCroy, hands down. She’s the perfect mix of Southern charm and bold confidence, and you know she’d be down for a jaw-dropping, high-style celebration. I’d bring out all the glam coastal vibes: dramatic lighting, luxe textures, crisp whites with bold florals, and a tablescape that says “effortless elegance with a little edge.” It’d be a wedding that turns heads and makes headlines, just like her.
And let’s be real, my guilty pleasure is all things Bravo. Give me a glam, dramatic Bravo-lebrity wedding over a Hollywood red carpet any day. It’s like styling your favorite reality TV moment... but better.
What’s the first song you’d play if you were the DJ at a wedding?
Easy, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. If that doesn't get your grandma, your bestie, and your flower girl all on the dance floor at the same time, I don’t know what will. It’s feel-good, timeless, and 100% wedding magic.
What are some of your favorite things to do in your free time?
When I’m not styling aisle-worthy looks or planning epic events, I’m all about soaking up the simple joys. I love a good roadtrip, (may or may not have driven to DC and back in 48hrs last fall with my husband), camping all over the country with my little crew: my husband Andy, our daughter Lennon, and our two adorable pups, Sage and Olive. You’ll also find me sipping any kind of coffee, scrolling Zillow like it’s a competitive sport, and rearranging furniture “just to see how it looks” again.
What’s a show you’re binge watching right now?
ALL Things BRAVO , because my Bravo obsession runs deep, and I live for the drama. It’s chaotic, emotional, and oddly therapeutic after a long day of making real brides’ dreams come true. Plus, you can’t style a Madison LeCroy inspired wedding without keeping up with the Bravo-verse.
That's just a little bit about the women who brought this one-stop bridal boutique to life! Ready to plan your wedding with someone who tells it like it is, makes it beautiful, and keeps it real? Let’s make the magic happen!! Confidence. Clarity. Killer style. That’s the Something Blue way!!
