From Concrete to Colorful: A Floral-Filled Wedding Glow-Up in Hampton, Iowa

When we say “blank canvas,” this space was ready for anything.
The Franklin County Fairgrounds in Hampton, Iowa is spacious, versatile, and easy to access. This venue is basically a wedding planner’s dream starting point. Sure, it came with a neutral palette, fluorescent lighting, and concrete floors… but that just meant we had a wide open opportunity to transform it into something unforgettable!
Our bride brought us a vision that was bursting with personality. She wanted the space to feel like home. Like they were back on their family farm, gathered in the house their grandfather built, surrounded by love.
The Before
Picture high ceilings, wide open space, and a neutral backdrop just waiting for a little love. It was the perfect blank slate, and we couldn’t wait to work our magic!
The Inspo
The bride came prepared with a dreamy Pinterest board full of soft peaches, sky blues, lilacs, and golden yellows. There were layered textures, bold blooms, and that “effortlessly curated” look. Think pastel florals, colorful goblets, vintage dishes, and a vibe that screamed joyful summer garden party. We were obsessed!
The After
We brought in our styling team, and got to work.
We designed a backdrop to celebrate family. Featuring their custom sign, brought to life with the brides florals, and a soft glow of fairy lights to tie it all together.
We got to include flowers the bride herself grew for the floral arrangements, mixed with flowers from The Flower Cart, and The Flower Bed.
We had 500+ hand-placed stems in vintage bud vases and mixed glass.
Tables were styled with white table linens, and blush lace runners.
We designed a head table featuring mismatched floral china, taper candles, and antique gold chargers.
A cozy lounge moment was created for the perfect photo-op with a vintage sofa, repurposed doors, and soft layered pillows.
And suddenly—poof!—the fairgrounds didn’t feel like a fairground anymore. It felt like a blooming garden inside a ballroom! It felt like they were at home!
